The Sunflower Foundation is developing a technical assistance program to help nonprofits become more engaged and effective in advocacy. Details on this program will be posted here as they are developed.

Findings from a recent Advocacy Survey of Health-Related Nonprofits commissioned by the Sunflower Foundation indicate organizations are eager, willing and ready to develop greater overall capacity to engage meaningfully and effectively in the public policy process. Survey results also identified key barriers, most notably time and financial resources, and opportunities, including relationship to organizational mission, the desire to educate the public, and collaboration.

The greatest assets for builidng public policy capacity in Kansas are nonprofit leaders themselves. They clearly see the importance of becoming consistent and influential shapers of public policy and want to take on the challenges. Click here to read the full report on the survey.
