Program Info

The Advocacy Fellowship program curriculum covers key areas that are essential to developing or improving skills and expertise in advocacy and nonprofit lobbying. Fellows must make a commitment to attend all of the training sessions.

  • Civic Engagement and Advocacy
  • Grassroots organizing
  • Coalition Building
  • Legislative Advocacy including an introduction to the executive and legislative branches of Kansas government
  • Media and Messaging with one-on-one media and presentation training
  • Understanding legal issues around advocacy and nonprofit lobbying
  • On the Hill experience – learning the ropes around federal policy making and best practices for advocating at the national level

This Fellowship program is nonpartisan, and does not promote a specific policy agenda. The focus is on building capacity for effective advocacy and not about specific issues.
